Description

The Stoic’s funeral.
The end of the human life of Anton Hesselmann also called Anton the first or Anton the Stoic, was full of drama. The old man was 78. About two years ago in June 1855 doctors identify that his health was becoming a problem, he got trouble for breathing, and he was every time more weak and slow. Troubles in all the world made Anton to be alert, and he never stopped working even though his medics instructed him to rest.
In January 1857 he got more troubles for breathing and he got a heart attack, he survived, but everyone knew that “the Stoic”, may not survive that year, his skin was pale, and his posture was every time more curved. He went to the celebration of the Kindness Day. In March he also celebrated the Spring Entrance. He was really weak, and ill. He needed help for moving and do thinks like writing and eat.
In April 21 he fell in agony in the early morning, pain around all his body, was the signal of his near death. In the night of April 23 everyone was ready for the decease. So at 11:34 am of April 24, 1857 Anton I died. Next to his death, his body was prepared for the funerals. All his bed clothes were removed, His body was cleaned and then the seamstresses dressed him with a purple robe. Then the body was deposited in a base for transporting the body, to the fourth floor of the Stained Glasses Tower, the called “Standard Saloon” where is the official Banner of the Orastral. There he was putted in the funeral base. Then the Capitol Archdruid Gudrun, or the Governor of the City, removed the two seals, the Orastral’s and the Gudrun’s, before that, some artisan destroyed the supporting stones and then the banner is removed and saved. After that the body was left there for exhibition of Druids, and Political leaders.
In April 25 he body was moved to the Orastral Chapel, where the body stayed all the day for public exhibition. In April 26 the body is moved in procession to the four season square, then the procession was moved to the Astral temple where Arthur O’Conor presided the funeral ceremony, and then was the ceremony of cremate all the stuff of the Orastral included his clothes, and his official banner. Then at 3:00 pm the body was moved in procession to the Temple of the Harbor. Where he was buried.
